Food news and diet trends sometimes seem to move at the speed of light and its hard to keep up. There are so many new ways of eating & dieting cropping up and it can be confusing and challenging to know what to follow. I certainly know that is the case for me.
In our home we really try to keep it basic, using real ingredients and cooking about 95% of our meals. Now this is not always easy and I've been known to keep a frozen pizza on hand for those days I just don't feel like cooking.
I use the freezer a lot and use shortcuts where I can. Or make big batches of things and freeze for future consumption.
This same mentality and approach to eating and making products is the foundation of Piccola Cucina. We don't feed you anything we wouldn't feed our own children. Minimally processed with an ingredient list you can read and understand. Just like if you made it at home, except we did the work for you. It is possible to eat clean, but use shortcuts where you need to with the right products. Our almond pie shells are a perfect item to have in the freezer for those days you don't feel like cooking. Whip up some eggs and veg, throw it into the shell and bake. 30-40 min later you have a delicious and healthy quiche, full of nutrients. Serve with a side salad and you're good to go.
